Plastic pelletizing machine, also known as plastic recycling machine, is a critical equipment used in plastic recycling plants to recycle plastic scrap and waste into reusable plastic granules or pellets. The plastic flakes are transported by the screw conveyor and heated inside the barrels to melt the plastic to a viscous liquid state. The die head shapes the melted plastic into strands which are cooled and cut into pellets. The pellets are then dried to remove residual moisture.

Various design options of pelletizing machines are available depending on needs - single screw or twin screw, water bath or air cooling, belt or wheel cutters etc. Key factors to consider are plastic type, output rate, pellet shape and size. The machine can process different types of plastic like PE, PP, PET, PVC etc. Proper temperature controls and optimal screw design is critical.

The recycled plastic pellets can be used in many applications like plastic products, packaging, automotive parts, construction materials etc. This replaces need for virgin plastic made from fossil fuels, enabling circular economy.
